Occupational Therapy

Live Well Occupational Therapy is a mobile outpatient occupational therapy provider serving clients in Missoula city limits and within a 10-mile driving distance of city limits.

About Mobile Outpatient Therapy

Mobile outpatient therapy is a therapy service that comes to you. It is provided as a service in your home or in the community. In every mobile therapy visit, you and your home will be treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect. Outpatient mobile therapy does not have a homebound requirement like traditional home health care. For those with Medicare insurance, outpatient mobile therapy utilizes your Medicare part B benefit.

Mobile outpatient OT as an alternative to clinic-based outpatient may be helpful for individuals who have difficulty with transportation, mobility, energy, or immunosuppression. Occupational therapy in the home also allows for more personalized and practical recommendations from your therapist. Your therapist gets to see how you move and function in the very place that matters most and can establish a care plan to promote success in that exact environment.

While mobile outpatient therapy has many advantages, it may not be the best option for every person and every rehab need. I strive to always provide recommendations for the services and disciplines that ensure my clients receive the highest quality of care for their personal goals and therapy needs.

Occupational therapy (OT) helps you do the things you want and need to do every day. OTs are trained to assess physical, cognitive, and psychosocial factors that impact one’s ability to participate in valued daily life activities, or occupations.

Occupations include: activities of daily living (self-care), instrumental activities of daily living (care of your home, pets, dependents, and community tasks such as shopping), health management, rest and sleep, education, work, play, leisure, and social participation.

OTs create personalized and collaborative plans of care after considering personal, environmental, and task-specific factors to help you meet your personal goals. OTs provide both restorative (recovering lost skills) and compensatory (adapting the way we tackle a skill) approaches in rehabilitation.
